Emergency! First-aid dramas for tricky eaters

You wake up and have the worst headache you have ever experienced.

You’re stuck in bed for ages, but when you finally make it downstairs and start frantically searching through your medicine box… disaster! You can’t find a single strong painkiller you can have. If you’re anything like me, your medicine box is quite disorganised – it’s one of those things you forget about until you desperately need it. Arghhhhh! Give me some god damn pain relief.

Usually you need medicine in an emergency and I’d say the majority of pills contain lactose in the coating. Some even contain gluten in the form of wheat starch (I have coeliac disease and lactose intolerance). It’s the times when you are in a rush, in a lot of pain or just feeling horrendous that you need things like this and trying to read the ingredients label on meds at the best of times is mind boggling. Sometimes you can’t even find it in the first place. I have spent many a time holding up the queue in the pharmacy doing this with the tutting growing loudly behind me.

I am so accident prone, I probably should get my first-aid kit in order. Take the time I accidentally smashed a window with my hand when I was alone in the house… and only in my underwear. I had to try to get my mum’s first-aid kit out of the cupboard whilst using my left hand to stem the bleeding of the right one. To help matters, I had a huge window, no curtains and strangers from the nearby holiday cottages walking around and having a good look.
Kamagra tablets should viagra overnight canada be ingested 30 minutes before your planned sexual intercourse and you are all set. First, contrary to most people’s idea of complete abstinence being put into cheap cialis practice, you’d better take regular sexual life, which would both ease the disease and avoid the prostate gland for a long time to induce inflammation and infection. The viagra pills online drug is said to be causing impotency among men, abnormal & decreased volume of ejaculation, reduction in the sexual life of the individual. There can be several icks.org lowest price for tadalafil reasons behind that can cause impotency and so you need to be conscious about the sexual health of my readers and I know that many people swear by them, but I found Blogger a bit too restricitive for my liking (though I understand that things have changed in this world, and the change isn’t going to stop.
I have discovered that shop’s own-brands are usually better for me. You know, like pretend Sudofed and unbranded 2-in-1 flu capsules. I was over the moon when I found both of those. Nurofen is luckily fine for my ibuprofen needs and Lemsip products are OK short-term, although they definitely cause havoc with my stomach.

Trying to get enough folic acid in me when I was pregnant with my second baby was a nightmare. You have to take an increased amount if your folic acid levels are low and you have coeliac disease. The pharmacist said that the strong tablets only had a trace amount of lactose in so I tried to suck it up for a week, but was soooo nauseous (which didn’t help the morning sickness as you can imagine. Bleugh!). Eventually we switched it to syrup form the pharmacist found to be lactose-free.

Antihistamine is my new problem as there is lactose in the coating of a lot of the tablets/capsules. I’m currently using a kid’s one, but that has sorbitol in it which is not good for some people who are low FODMAP like me. If anyone knows of a good one, please let me know? I’ll buy you a gluten-free beer!

There has also been uproar on Coeliac groups recently about Calpol and children’s paracetamol. The official line from Johnson and Johnson is “we cannot exclude the possibility that trace amounts of gluten may be present within Calpol suspensions” however Coeliac UK advise that the risk is ‘very low’ (Coeliac UK 2018). I for one, have never noticed any reactions giving it to my two mini-coeliacs. If you have a child with coeliac disease, we would love to hear what you are going to do.
