Drewton’s Farm Shop

I made a reservation at Drewton’s farm shop, and informed them that my Wife was on a Gluten free diet. We where looking forward to a good meal after reading the Safereating review . On arrival we where shown to our table and supplied with Menu’s. My wife again told the waitress about the Gluten free diet, we selected our meals and while placing our order asked to ensure the meal would be Gluten free, the waitress thought that the gravy contained Gluten and said she would have to ask the Chef . It was confirmed that it did contain Gluten . We where considering leaving when the Owner, appeared and said she could adapt the meal to suit, this meant supplying butter for the mashed Potato instead of gravy. Not ideal but no real alternative. After our meal we decided to have a dessert and was shown the menu, plus about 20 options of cake/tarts on the specials board . The only Gluten free dessert available was a slice of Chocolate cake. We decided to miss dessert, and go. I was very disappointed with our experience at Drewton’s especially after reading such a glowing review. I would hope our experience was a one off, and not the normal service.
