A crazy face to match my crazy symptoms.
I’ve been feeling a bit rubbish recently. Just absolutely exhausted. Definitely not my normal self… although I am not sure how normal that ever gets.
I’m waiting on immunology as everything is pointing towards another autoimmune disease. If you have one, you have an increased chance of getting another and I now have coeliac disease and likely psoriasis.
Whatever it is, it is making me do crazier stuff than usual. Yesterday, for example, I put my running gloves in the bin and tried to put the kettle in the fridge instead of get the milk out.
I also poured ‘normal’ milk on my very large bowl of cereal. (I have lactose intolerance, too, and have settled on Koko as my dairy-free milk of choice.) What a way to start the day.
It was even more heartbreaking as there was only a quarter of a bowl-worth of the cereal left in the box (Mesa Sunrise, if you’re interested). I know that is probably a full portion to some, but it’s not how I operate. There is no way I could get through a morning on that.

I have asked to be tested for pernicious anaemia as I had a B12 deficiency all the way through uni and my great aunt also had it.
It is an autoimmune condition where your body attacks certain cells in your stomach, so you can’t absorb vitamin B12.
The exact cause is unknown, but it’s more common in women aged around 60, people with a family history and those with another autoimmune condition. So I tick two of those boxes. And no, it is not the 60 box although I know all of this is making me look pretty haggered.
If it is that, I am very much looking forward to a good shot of vitamin B12. And being able to get my words out properly. Having problems with talking is not ideal for a speech and language therapist.
